Sara Blecher
Sara Blecher is a certified Intimacy Coordinator and co-owner of Safe Sets. She has been working as an IC since 2019, making her one of the most experienced practitioners in South Africa.
With over 20 years' experience as an award-winning director and producer, Sara brings a unique creative perspective to her intimacy work. She understands the pressures of performance and production, and is skilled at balancing both the artistic vision and the well-being of cast. This allows her to approach challenging intimate content in ways that are safe, imaginative, and supportive of storytelling.
Sara is also a trainer with Safe Sets' SAG-AFTRA–accredited program, and has taught intimacy best practice internationally in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America, and India. She is a co-founder of Intimacy Practitioners South Africa (IPSA), key contributors to the South African Protocols for Working with Intimate Content, and the founder of SWIFT (Sisters Working in Film & Television), which advocates for gender equity and safety in the industry.
Her IC credits include work for Netflix, HBO, Showmax, Sony Pictures, BET Africa, Film Afrika, Quizzical, Moonlighting, and many others.
